I believe it is a strategic mistake not to have an auto to "Walk" signal,
especially at path crossing where people are moving at speed on bike paths and
pushing the "walk" button isn't possible to catch the light that we have a
right too....one "E" of the magic 3 E's is Education..and drivers should be
reminded that pedestrians have the right of way and they should look for them
at these crossings...I get yelled at weekly by drivers for crossing when I have
the "right" by the book but NOT by the sign...that "right" should be codified
by the sign...not just assume that drivers will know it and even more
importantly, respect it-I'm sure I'm not the only one and I think it makes
cyclists look "bad" or "selfish scofflaws"...I think the lack of the other
"E"...Engineering...simply using the controls that are already there to inform
all of who has a right and when...is a mistake and should be used. Same
applies for heavy pedestrian crossings...do you hear me intersection of Old
University and Highland?? (one example)...signed, tired of being yelled at for
doing the right thing. Best, Troy
