I've just learned that the Lakeshore Path between the Porter Boathouse (at Babcock Dr) and Elm Drive will be completely closed for a couple of days, probably starting next week. ALL traffic (bikes and peds) will be detoured to Observatory Drive for the block between Babcock Dr and Elm Dr. Please don't go past the barricades -hopefully it will only be an inconvenience for a couple of days.
There's a utility project there that was scheduled to begin long ago, but delayed because of the budget process. Now apparently it has to be done urgently or not at all. I apologize for the late notice of the closure, and of the closure itself. We had planned to keep it open, and I think we would have succeeded if the construction had been allowed to begin and proceed on schedule. I'll post the dates of the closure as soon as I know them. For now, this is all I the information I have.
