FYI. I got this from the DNR. There is a link to the draft master plan for
the Sauk Prairie Recreation Area (formerly the Badger Ammo Plant) north of
Sauk City and south of the Baraboo Bluffs along Highway 12.

There was a tremendous amount of pressure to allow access for ATVS and
other 3-season motorized vehicles (off-road motorcycles, 4WD trucks, and
such.) It looks like the master plan proposes to allow dual-sport
motorcycles to use some trails 6 days out of the year and not allow ATVs at
all. This will be a relief to those who were looking forward to more quiet
and slower uses in the area. Also, many neighbors and local folks who have
worked very hard on a re-use plan for this area will be relieved.

The draft plan includes recommendations for a variety of recreational uses
on the 3,300 acre property, located between Sauk City and Baraboo, which
comprises roughly half of the former Badger Army Ammunition Plant.

The public will have 45 days to provide comments regarding the draft master
plan and environmental impact statement. Comments must be received by Sept.
