Annual board elections for the Bike Fed are open until 5 PM on Tuesday, Nov
22. Since it's a bit tough to find the link to vote, here it is:

http://board.wisconsinbikefed.org/

This is your chance to influence who is shaping the policies of the
statewide bike organization. I hope everyone will take this opportunity to
vote. If you are a member, you can access the ballot with the email
associated with your membership. If you aren't yet a member, you can join
and then vote. There are short statements/bios for each candidate to help
you decide.

I am not running for reelection, but there are many good candidates. One
contacted me recently and asked for my support and endorsement, so I'm
going to give it here:

Sydney Prusak is studying Urban and Regional Planning with a friend of mine
and has a lot of experience that I think will make her an excellent
addition to the board. As a woman based in Madison I think she will
advocate for many of the same things that I have tried to do. She is very
passionate about getting more women involved in biking and addressing their
concerns. She interned at the Active Transportation alliance in Chicago and
has studied at the University of Copenhagen, so she has seen what
forward-thinking cities in both a U.S. and Europe have been able to
achieve.

As I said, there are many great candidates. I voted for increased gender
and geographic balance on the board and people with deep roots in advocacy,
environmental causes, and working directly with communities (either
demographic or geographic/political.)

Please take the time to read the bios and vote. Board elections in the past
have been won by one or two votes!
