Found the misstake: bincimap in /var/opt/log was owned by root. When I set
booth owner and group to noboby on bincimap in /var/opt/log the logs duely

seems to imply that /var/log/bincimap should be owned by multilog.
I don't event have a user "multilog". Multilog or nobody, perhaps it doesn't
matter? Anyway, I would be interesting to have your opinion(s) on this?

Your comments caused me to look more closely at the default configuration and it looks like the multilog logging process is run by root in the default configuration. (My preference is to minimize the number of processes owned by root) If you have a default configuration, how come multilog is running as "nobody"?
I presume that this issue is independent of vpopmail?Correct.
So now I have got logs, where:How was svscanboot invoked? Who owns the svcan process on your system? Is it "nobody"? It should be "root".

bugs me a bit. In /etc/opt/bincimap/bincimap.conf I have keept the original
