No, that's what I was looking for, thanks.  Also thanks to Ben for providing 
the link.

Sounds like I want IMAPdir.  How can I go about converting a huge amount of 
folders and mail to IMAPdir?  Is there a script for it or do I just go move 
things one by one, removing the prefixing dots and putting the root cur/new/
tmp in a new folder called INBOX?  Is the path to the delivery location only 
stored in one place in qmail?  And again in bincimap.conf?
