Hello,
according to a thread here in the mailinglist from Alan I. I tryed to use checklocalpwd (http://freshmeat.net/projects/checklocalpwd/) for authentication with bincimap.
But bincimap crashes when the authentication process is valid (right username and password). But it comes up with an error message when the username/password are incorect.
I'm using Bincimap 1.2.9final on Mac OS X 10.3.4 with checklocalpwd an no existing maildir, here's the syslog entry:
Aug 2 17:41:18 localhost xinetd[396]: START: imap pid=577 from=192.168.0.11
Aug 2 17:41:18 localhost bincimap-up[577]: connection from 192.168.0.11
Aug 2 17:42:11 localhost bincimap-up[577]: <jens> authentication failed: wrong userid or password

Aug 2 17:43:49 localhost xinetd[396]: START: imap pid=613 from=192.168.0.11

Aug 2 17:43:55 localhost bincimap-up[613]: shutting down - read:21 bytes, wrote:102 bytes.
and here the content of my /etc/poppasswd
PowerMac:/etc jens$ cat poppasswd jens:iQGVk19kchfGw:jens:/Users/jens/.maildir/
Perhaps somebody can send me a hint how to solve this problem.
Regards, Jens Kohl
