To add my voice to the chorus, I've been using binc with vpopmail for almost a year now, and I've had not a single problem. It works better than courier, actually, because courier removes certain environment variables that vpopmail uses to determine which interface (and thus which virtual domain) binc is coming from. I haven't installed FAM, and I currently use IMAPdir (though I started with Maildir). Not a single vpopmail-related problem. Courier, on the other hand, aside from the environment variable stuff, also had to be patched by hand to use vpopmail for authentication (the Debian package didn't want the extra dependency). It's been very nice, and much easier to maintain.
