Yes... with your hints, I noticed that during a previous install, bincimap
had set up an xinetd daemon. I killed that, so now it works correctly with
supervise! I guess I had misunderstood the instructions on the website and
first made an installation using the "default" values. Then, I hadn't
correctly uninstalled the previous version. Sorry for all that! [1]
However, I am still having trouble with authentication... I'll try batlling
that tomorrow.
[1] Just so you know why I did that (and maybe avoid others falling into the
same trap):
1. Top page: InstallingBincIMAP
2. 2nd para:
"Bundled with the Binc IMAP source package is a file called
README. Your first step should be to read through this text
file, and check that you have followed all steps correctly."
3. README:
./configure
make
make install
I made a few simple changes on the wiki to reflect this.
