First of all, thanks for you support. Beyond the call of duty :).

I know there's a document out there outlining the difference and why you should use IMAPdir anyway (with symlinks). Could someone point me to it? I can't find it anymore :(.

Are you referring to http://www.bincimap.org/bincimap-imapdir.html?

No, I did find that one. It's one where it basically says: You should use IMAPdir anyway, because … and then goes on to say how you can make Maildir++ programs happy by making a symlink, etc.

Maybe http://lifewithbincimap.org/index.php/Main/WhatIsADepot?

The mail thread containing the following message http:// www.bincimap.andreas.hanssen.name/archive/?0::1048.

Finally Maildir++2IMAPdir.pl script (https://src.bincimap.org/trunk/ scripts/Maildir++2IMAPdir.pl) that converts a Maildir++ depot to an IMAPdir depot, and which creates symbolic links from the Maildir++ depot to the IMAPdir depot.

Neither of them, although they're a good read. Now, I'm starting to doubt myself, but I really remember a document which contests reason for going with Maildir++.

The question that the document answers (IIRC) is why I shouldn't care too much about Maildir++ if it's a new server. The box this will be running on uses qmail/vpopmail and I would like to know the advantages/disadvantages of either depot type with regards to my setup, and what modifications the setup would need.
