Hi,

I've just started using a catalog zone to tell my secondary servers
to pick up new zones. This is on Debian stable so package version
1:9.16.37-1~deb11u1.

I'd like to stop them from sending notifies when they transfer in a
zone. Neither "notify no;" nor "notify primary-only;" seems to do
it. Running now with primary-only for example:

19-Apr-2023 16:02:13.478 general: warning: zone wire2web.io/IN: expired
19-Apr-2023 16:02:14.038 xfer-in: info: zone wire2web.io/IN: Transfer started.
19-Apr-2023 16:02:14.198 xfer-in: info: transfer of 'wire2web.io/IN' from
2001:ba8:1f1:f085::53#53: connected using 2600:3c01:e000:259::53#59683
19-Apr-2023 16:02:14.358 xfer-in: info: zone wire2web.io/IN: transferred serial
2023040514
19-Apr-2023 16:02:14.358 xfer-in: info: transfer of 'wire2web.io/IN' from
2001:ba8:1f1:f085::53#53: Transfer status: success
19-Apr-2023 16:02:14.358 xfer-in: info: transfer of 'wire2web.io/IN' from
2001:ba8:1f1:f085::53#53: Transfer completed: 1 messages, 34 records, 1858
bytes, 0.160 secs (11612 bytes/sec) (serial 2023040514)
19-Apr-2023 16:02:14.358 notify: info: zone wire2web.io/IN: sending notifies
(serial 2023040514)

I can't use "notify no;" in the "zone {}" section because there
isn't any such section, given a catalog zone is in use.

I thought it might be a catalog zone custom property but it seems
not:

https://bind9.readthedocs.io/en/latest/chapter6.html#catalog-zone-custom-properties

Is there any way to disable this notify behaviour with secondary
zones loaded from a catalog zone?

I had a quick skim of:

https://gitlab.isc.org/isc-projects/bind9/-/issues/?search=catalog&sort=created_date&state=all&first_page_size=100

and couldn't see a relevant bug but if I missed something and this
was rectified in a later release then I'll upgrade…

Thanks,
Andy
