I'm planning to study the substrate-borne communication in the fiddler crab Uca lactea next year. Males of this species tap on the entrance of burrows in which females are hiding. After tapping, females may surface to the ground and may mate with males. This species is about 1 - 1.5 cm in carapace width. I like to find suitable detectors for the tapping signals to be recorded. I would appreciate any information.
