Joe and others:

Does anyone have any first-hand experience with the Sound Devices
Recorder (below)? The specs on this unit impressed me the most, but I
wonder how hardy it is in the field? and also battery life?

-Thanks

>The Sound Devices 722 and 744
>Appear to be state-of-the-art gear with recording capability up to
>192 kHz sampling. The 744 records 4 channels, but only two of them
>have mic preamplifiers with P48 power. Recording 4 mics require an
>additional stereo mic pre, thus further increasing cost and size.
