Hello,I was wondering if someone could give me a couple of tips on hydrophones. For the 'Animal Behaviour Lab' at the University of Oklahoma we consider purchasing a hydrophone. The idea is that our Department has a big emphasis on teleost fishes and some students are interested in monitoring some of the fish we have (darters, shiners, several poeciliids, etc.) for sound production.Could someone please give me a couple of tips on good-quality hydrophones that are not too expensive (we are not really a bioacoustic-oriented Department otherwise) and also not too big (some of the fish tanks are relative small). We do have a MicroTrack II that we can use as a recording device.Any tips would be appreciated. Many thanks already in advance.Cheers,RudyRüdiger Riesch PhD CandidateDepartment of Zoology University of Oklahoma 730 Van Vleet Oval Norman, OK 73019 USA
