Information about the joint ASA 159th meeting/NOISE-CON 2010 to be held in Baltimore, 
Maryland, 19-23 April 2010 has been posted online at <http://asa.aip.org> --

include the technical program calendar, schedule of committee meetings, and meeting 
information, online registration, and make a hotel reservation. You will also find 
additional information about NOISE-CON 2010 at the INCE-USA website at

There are 1350 abstracts scheduled for presentation and so we expect this to be 
a very large meeting.  You are encouraged to make your hotel reservations at 
the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel as early as possible.

Some meeting events and special features include:

Monday:  ***TUTORIAL ON ANIMAL HEARING***; Technical tour to Mt Vernon Arts 
District; Student Orientation Session and Student Icebreaker

Monday evening/Tuesday/Wednesday: Exposition. The meeting will be highlighted 
by a large exposition, jointly sponsored by the ASA and INCE. It will open with 
a reception on Monday evening.

Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday evenings: Open Meetings of ASA Technical Committees 
Much of the work of the Society is accomplished by actions that originate and 
are taken in these meetings including proposals for special sessions, workshops 
and technical initiatives. All meeting participants are cordially invited to 
attend these meetings and to participate actively in the discussions. On 
Tuesday and Thursday they are scheduled to start immediately following the 
Social Hours. ***THE BIOACOUSTICS GROUP MEETING IS THURSDAY EVENING.***

Wednesday: Joint Plenary Session and Awards Ceremony; Student events: Student 
Forum and Student Reception; Technical Tour to Laboratories and Key Sites at 
the United States Naval Academy; Technical Tour and Open House to University of 
Maryland-College Park Laboratories (***THERE ARE A NUMBER OF BIOACOUSTICS 
RESEARCHERS AT UMD***);   FAA Public Meeting on State of the Art of Supersonic 
Aircraft Technology

Thursday: Open meetings of Accredited Standards Committees S1, Acoustics; S2, 
Mechanical Vibration and Shock; S3, Bioacoustics; S12, Noise; and S3/SC1, 
***ANIMAL BIOACOUSTICS***, and the Standards Plenary meeting.  Attendees are 
invited to attend and participate in the acoustical standards development 
process

Friday: Urban Design with Noise in Mind Symposium
