Dear ASA Member,

Several ASA Fellowships, Scholarships, Awards, and Prizes have application 
deadlines in the first quarter of 2012. You are encouraged to apply yourself or 
to nominate or encourage your students, junior colleagues, and others to apply 
as appropriate.

The following opportunities are now available. Application information and 
entry details can be found online as described below.

1. Raymond H. Stetson Scholarship in Phonetics and Speech Science-Application 
deadline: 15 March 2012
This scholarship is for graduate study and research in scientific areas related 
to the field of phonetics and speech production as described in the application 
form. An applicant shall be a member of the Acoustical Society of America prior 
to, or at the time of, the application deadline. Evidence of good academic 
standing in a graduate degree program is also required. - Download application

2. Rossing Prize in Acoustics Education-Application deadline: 15 March 2012
The Rossing Prize in Acoustics Education was established in 2003 from a grant 
made by Thomas D. Rossing to recognize an individual who has made significant 
contributions toward furthering acoustics education through distinguished 
teaching, creation of educational materials, textbook writing and other

3. Minority Fellowship - Application deadline: 15 March 2012
The Acoustical Society of America announces the availability of a fellowship 
for graduate study in scientific areas related to the field of acoustics. To be 
eligible for the fellowship, the applicant must have permanent residence or 
citizenship in the United States at the time of application. He/she must also 
be a member of an ethnic minority group _Hispanic, African-American, or Native 
American_ that is underrepresented in the sciences. Evidence of acceptance 
into, or good academic standing in, a graduate degree program is also required.

4. ASA/AIP Congressional Science and Engineering Fellowship - Application 
deadline: 15 January 2012
ASA will cosponsor a Congressional Science and Engineering Fellowship for 
2012-2013. The program, a joint venture with the American Institute of Physics, 
is described in an announcement at aip.org/gov/fellowships/cf.html. Members 
interested in applying should visit the website for application instructions.
