Hello,

I'm a graduate student in Medical Genetics at the University of British
Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. My background and training are in
molecular biology but have recently been picking up bioinformatics tasks
and skills.

As my first open-source bioinformatics contribution, I'd like to develop
an XML parser for the XML output of the 'polyphred' SNP-detection software.

I've chosen to base the program on HXT. I'd like to make this program
as compatible as possible with the other biohaskell libraries.

Source has been posted here:

This code was heavily influenced by the HXT tutorial found here:

http://www.haskell.org/haskellwiki/HXT/Practical/Simple2

I will reiterate that I am a beginner. Be warned! But I will
appreciate any input or comments. More specific questions may follow as
the project develops.

Thanks

Dan
