I jotted something down real quick, it's what I could extract from the
wiki history, so I apologize if I missed some important
developments, and will send in an update if I'm made aware of any
omissions or errors. (I already sent it in, since I think it's better to get
something reasonably updated and reasonably complete out, than to be too
late with a perfect draft.)

Bioinformatics in Haskell is a steadily growing field, and the
\href{http://hackage.haskell.org/packages/archive/pkg-list.html#cat:bioinformatics}{\emph{Bio}
  section} on Hackage now contains 66 libraries and applications. The
\href{http://biohaskell.org}{biohaskell web site} coordinates this
effort, and provides documentation and related information.
Anybody interested in the combination of Haskell and bioinformatics is encouraged
to sign up to the mailing list (currently by emailing
\href{mailto:ketil@@malde.org}{Ketil}), and to register and document their contributions on the
\href{http://biohaskell.org}{http://biohaskell.org} wiki.

This year, we have seen several new developments, including libraries
for \href{http://biohaskell.org/Libraries/memexml}{parsing MEME XML},
working with \href{https://github.com/nh2/hemokit}{EEG data},
and a \href{}{client library} to run NCBI's BLAST services.
We have also been lucky to recieve one slot in Google's Summer of Code, where
\href{http://www.biohaskell.org/GSoC_blog}{Sarah} will work on
optimizing the
\href{http://blog.malde.org/posts/transitive-alignments.html}{transalign}
program.
