Birders are enjoying the "for-now" excellent body of water right in front of
the north-pathway platform at Cranberry Marsh in southwest Whitby.
Highlights for a very cold day on April 23--1 Pied-billed Grebe, 4 Coots,
many Blue-winged Teal, 2 Green-winged Teal, 2 American Wigeon, several
Gadwalls, 2 Shovelers among others.
IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO APPROACH THE PLATFORM SLOWLY, indeed perhaps setting up
just short of it.

In Whitby Harbour there were 1 Common Loon, 1 White-winged Scoter and
numerous D-c Cormorants.

Cranberry Marsh is near the base of Hall's Rd. which is accessed 1 block
east of Lakeridge Rd. in southwest Whitby.
Whitby Harbour is at the foot of Brock St. in Whitby.
