OFNC BIRD STATUS LINE SUNDAY June 29 AT 9:30 PM

This is Chris Lewis reporting.

On Saturday June 28, the downtown Ottawa Peregrine Falcon chick
took her first flight. She landed on the balcony of the Minto
Place Hotel, was recovered and returned to the nest site on the
Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Otherwise, a very quiet time for bird reports. On the 28th, 2
Common Terns were seen on the Ottawa River near Breckenridge
Québec.

On the 22nd, the Carp Hills, along the Thomas Dolan Parkway, west
of Dunrobin, at least 2 Black-billed Cuckoos, 3 Eastern Towhees
and a Golden-winged Warbler were singing.

An Upland Sandpiper was reported from Conley Rd and a Black-billed
Cuckoo from Bleek's Rd, both in the Munster area the same day.

Going back to June 17, Common Nighthawks were reported in the
evening from both the town of Carp and downtown Ottawa.

A reminder about the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas, please report
any nesting activity to Christine Hanrahan at 798-1620 or at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Also regarding the breeding bird atlas, on
Sunday July 6 there will a field workshop on how to confirm
