Greetings,

Bruce DiLabio and I went out to Gull Island this morning and saw an
immature female Peregrine, plus a number of shorebirds including Am.
Golden Plover (4), Sb Dowitcher (3), White-rumped S/p (7), Baird's (7),
Pectoral (12). Also present in big numbers were Flickers and Monarchs,
especially at Owen Pt. On a less cheery note there was a dying Common
Loon on the natural beach and several more dead Great Black-backed
Gulls, bring the total for that species in the past two weeks to about
15 birds - very strange. Still no sign of any hurricane birds. We also
had a female Peregrine and a Woodcock in my Brighton yard last night.
