Today Terrie and I did a shorebird survey at the Port Perry lagoons and
while the shorebirds were slim [6 [2A, 4J] Greater Yellowlegs, 19J Lesser
Yellowlegs, 3J Least Sandpipers and 6J Pectoral Sandpipers], hundreds of
Tree Swallows foraged over the lagoons with one Barn and one Rough-winged
Swallow. The highlight for me was an adult Sharp-tailed Sparrow, seen well
at the southeastern edge of the eastern most lagoon. It flew across this
lagoon to the west as we left and landed on the berm separating the first
lagoon from the next westerly one.
