Getting back on line allows me to give you a brief summary of the Cranberry
Marsh Raptor Watch for Oct.5-8dates--some north and westerly winds have
brought 411, 166, 114 and 104, respectively,  migrating raptors over our
platform, highlights being Bald Eagles (5 on Oct.5 and 2 on Oct.6) and 5
Merlins on Oct.5. Of the total of 895 hawks, 481 were Sharp-shinneds, 120
Turkey Vultures. The Kestrel count is gradually diminishing-- only 77. The
Ospreys are nearly finished. We had 44 Broad-wingeds on Oct.5.

Non-raptors have included our first Junco for the autumn, Palm Warbler, both
Kinglets, Swainson's Thrush, Rusty and Red-winged Blackbirds, PINE SISKINS
and 3 SNOW GEESE.

east of Lakeridge), going to the second roadside parking area near the
lakefront.
