Weekly report from the Cabot Head Research Station of the Bruce Peninsula
Bird Observatory
(September 30th - Ocotber 6th)
Like the previous week, the weather was bad most of the time : wind, rain
and overcat conditions. Consequently, we lost many net-hours and even 2 days
without banding. However some days were very good. Black-capped Chickadees
are still numerous, but we also had a good move of Brown Creepers and of
Golden-crowned Kinglets the 1st of October. A late American Redstart was
caught the 5th of October.
Sparrows are also moving through, mostly White-throated and White-crowned.
On the Bay, White-winged Scoters, Common Mergansers and Red-necked Grebes
are seen more regularly.
Cabot Head Research Station is located near DyerÂ’s Bay, on the Bruce
Peninsula. Acces to the station is limited. Please contact us for a visit.
Bruce Peninsula Bird Observatory is a charitable non-profit group dedicated
