The Eared Grebe was seen by several observers all yesterday off Lucas Point
Park in Cobourg and was found again this morning, but it is now much farther
out from shore, a bit east of yesterday's location, and hard to see in the
choppy water, especially in the freezing windchill of the clifftop today.
Several observers did finally see it but all agreed that views could have
been better!

To reach Lucas Point Park, exit Hwy.401 at Division Street, Exit 474, and
drive down Division to one block north of the harbour. Turn left at the
lights on King Street and drive east just less than 2km, past two more sets
of lights, to turn south on Willmott Street, where the houses end. This
street runs south to the lake then turns east with industry north of it and
the park to the south. After 200metres or so there is a small parking lot on
the south side with a walkway to the cliff edge which gives good views of
the lake.
