This morning Steve Pike and myself found a Townsend's Solitaire south of DeLaurier Trail.
You can access the area at the DeLaurier House (or main road) by walking south down the seasonal trail which is actually the former (old) road bed. When approaching the opening of the former Maintenance Complex, you will see several very large Red Cedars on the left. One of these is covered in berries, and this is where the bird was. Based on the behaviour of other solitaires in Ontario over the years, it would not be surprising if this bird continued to feed on this tree for days if not weeks. This morning the number of birds in the park was spectacular -- passerines were virtually everywhere.
