On Oct.27 a Northern Shrike was seen along the roadside at the north end of
Hall's Rd.

Oct.28 at the Cranberry Marsh RW platform--for the 4th consecutive day of
"wrong winds" the migrating hawks are either to the east or flying inland.
However we do have regular fly-abouts by a "resident" 1-yr. old Bald Eagle,
and this AM the viewers were enthralled to watch it being persistently
harassed by either or both a Kestrel and a Peregrine.
The only migrants were 2 TVs, 3Red-taileds, 1 Kestrel and 1 Peregrine.

Throughout the 2-hour watch 6 white Snow Geese and 1 Blue Goose endlessly
circled the wetland--at 1115 they settled onto the pond on the east side.
Greater & Lesser Yellowlegs were up flying about.

Near-the-platform birds included 2 Fox Sparrows and several Juncos.

CMRW is at the foot of Hall's Rd. in southwest Whitby,ON
