Observation start time: 10:15:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 5.75 hours

Official Counter: Calvin Brennan

Observers: Jeff Schultz, Raburn Howland

Weather:
Today saw a mix of sun and cloud with light to moderate northwest winds
switching to northeast and increasing by mid-afternoon.

Observations:
After a brief period at the boat launch, a switch to Point Mouillee was
made where all observations were made. Much of the flight was low although
spread over a rather broad front. A considerable flight was recorded
considering the late date and perhaps a function of such poor migrating
conditions over the last week. A dark-morph adult once again highlighted
the Red-tail movement. An additional highlight early in the day was the
all too brief look at two Short-eared Owls. These birds were perhaps
flushed from a roosting area along the marsh by a hunter and only stayed
in view a few seconds before disappearing behind a tree line.
