Although I wasn't able to get down to Lake Erie until lunch time there was a good late-season hawk flight from 12:15 to 3:15 p.m. with the NW winds. I counted 253 hawks of 8 species. The only other migrants this afternoon were several flights of American Goldfinch, 2 Eastern Bluebirds and 1 Common Grackle.

Red-tailed Hawk 203
Red-shouldered Hawk 11
Rough-legged Hawk 1 dark phase
Northern Harrier 14
Cooper's Hawk 6
Sharp-shinned Hawk 6

Our hawk watch site is at Pede Road which is about 5 km east of Port Bruce. From Aylmer drive south on Imperial Road to Copenhagen. Turn east on Nova Scotia Line and drive to the first road on the right. Turn right on Pede Road and drive to the dugout or to the end of the road. Park on the shoulder and watch to the east.
