This am. Monday, Dec.8th. Mark Cranford and company did not get the bird nor
did I upon looking around after their visit. Dave Don's report copied below.
Regards/tac
"Hi Ont birders,
Have just received a phone call from Barry
Cheriere, who found a single Purple Sandpiper, just West of Spencer Smith
Park in Burlington. The bird was feeding in the grunge on the shore of the
lake, and was viewed by standing on the "promenade compass" looking West.
The bird at this point was 30 feet away. It was still there when I left at
5:15pm.
Directions: Spencer Smith Park in Burlington is located off Lakeshore Road
between Brant St. and Maple Avenue on the south side of Lakeshore. The
Festival of Lights is currently on there, so you can't miss it. You can
enter the parking lot at the lights.
Cheers and good luck,
Dave Don"
