Hi all!
At the end of a most successful SPNC trip with Ron Scovell leading, Jim Watt and I decided to try for the Black headed Gull at the flypast at the museum dock. As Gord Bellerby reported, there seemed to almost no movement of Bonies, when 2 Purple Sandpipers flew low around the corner right at us, veering out into the river, I think, to avoid us. Shortly after the gulls came on in droves and we were able to pick out a Black-headed in the middle of one large flock. Other people on the dock also got a Little Gull, but we did not and having seen 2 earlier(1 adult at Whirlpool and 1 sub-adult at Queenston sand docks) - we left in a euphoric mood - one of the best days ever on the river for either of us.

Cheers! Maris
