This morning (Jan. 11) during the Lake Ontario Winter Duck Count, Dave Don, Tom Crooks and I had four first-year male King Eiders on Lake Ontario off L.P. Sayers Park in Stoney Creek. The birds were also visible from the foot of Green Rd just to the east. Waterfowl numbers along this stretch of the lake were typical with 1000s of Long-tailed Ducks, White-winged Scoters, Common Goldeneye and Greater Scaup. Highest numbers were between Millen Rd. and Glover Rd. farther east. Directions: Take QEW highway to Hamilton, exit at Hwy. 20 (Centennial Parkway). Go north to the North Service Rd, turn right, go east to Drakes Dr. Turn left, go straight past Francis St. to the end at Lakegate Dr., turn right. L.P. Sayers Park is at the end of this street. Parking is best on Oceanic Dr. Cheers, Rob Dobos Dundas [EMAIL PROTECTED] "Dobos,Rob [Burlington]" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Visit http://www.ofo.ca/ontbirdsguide.htm for information on leaving and joining the list.
