Hi All I just wanted to add a little to Alf's note of yesterday.
The birds have been seen along Concession E - this is the first road north of the park gates. The owls were sitting on the dyke which is the northern boundary of the park - mostly in shrubbery and quite close to the ground. The majority of the owls were found between address markers 1611 and 1715, though we did see individuals the entire length of Concession E. I was there last night, at sundown and some of the owls were actively hunting, which was quite a treat. We saw birds with prey and even saw one owl regurgitate a pellet! Please remember the Concession E is a very, narrow road and there will be residents trying to access their properties. If you stop, please make sure that it is in an area where cars can get around easily. This will help foster good relationships between birders and local residents - thank you! The park feeder is still active - our two Fox Sparrows and Eastern Towhee are in regularly. We also have a small group of Golden-crowned Kinglets around the VC. I sighted a Northern Mockingbird earlier this week on Robson Road, near the Leamington Municipal Marina. Good Birding!
