The Townsend Solitaire was found again today in the same general area as
first reported. The Bruce Birding club outing for the day focussed on
finding this bird which did not prove to difficult. All fourteen members
today got excellent looks and for most was a life bird. In the area also
were 4 Pine Grosbeak and a Common Raven.
Take hwy #21 from Port Elgin or Kincardine to Tiverton. From Tiverton
Continue down Bruce Rd. #15 to Inverhuron, turn right on Victoria St. and
continue north to Caley st. Park on the side of the road and walk towards
the lake. At the intersection of Wellington and Cayley at the cottage named
Hillcrest start looking in for the bird. This is the area where most people
have seen it. Today it was first spotted down Wellington St. and then it
flew to its usual spot. after some good looks it the flew of to the south
behind the cottage not to be seen again.
