Oshawa Second Marsh 8:30 am to 11am 800 + shorebirds of 15 species
Primarily Dunlin, Least Sandpipers and Semi-palmated Plovers 1 Piping Plover It was foraging directly across from the east platform with Semi-palmated Plovers still present at 11am 1 Marbled Godwit present at 11am 4 Whimbrel 1 still present at 11am after the Peregrines visited 1 Short-billed Dowitcher 1 White-rumped Sandpiper 1 Sanderling 2 Black-bellied Plovers 2 Peregrine Falcons An imm came by at 9am and 20 minutes later a pale adult came in and caught a shorebird. Directions: Exit from the 401 at the Harmony Rd. Exit (419) in Oshawa. Go south on Farewell St. to Colonel Sam Drive. Go east on Colonel Sam Drive to the parking lot at the GM Headquarters. Park in the west parking lot close to the marsh. The east platform is located here. To see the Lake Ontario waterbirds proceed along the path from the parking lot south to the lakeshore
