Hi All,

Here are a few birds that were seen today by a recreational youth team from
Ottawa, The Phenominal Fledglings while scouting for next weekend's
Taverner Cup.

On Lake Dore, a flock of a dozen LONG-TAILED DUCKS, 8 RED-NECKED GREBES,
many BONAPARTE'S GULLS, an uncommon GADWALL, a dozen or so COMMON TERNS and
a sitting-on-nest COMMON LOON.

On the Snake River Line, west of Cobden, the flooding produced SPOTTED
SANDPIPER, KILLDEER, LESSER YELLOWLEGS, LEAST SANDPIPERS, DUNLIN,
SEMI-PALMATED PLOVERS, WILSON'S SNIPE and 2 uncommon SHORT-BILLED
DOWITCHERS. BLACKPOLL WARBLERS, MARSH WRENS, SORA and a NORTHERN PARULA
were also there. There are also SANDHILL CRANES and UPLAND SANDPIPERS
nesting in this area.

Lake Dore is 7 km. up Hwy 41 from Eganville. The good viewing spots are
Point Church Rd on the east side of the lake, off Hwy 41 and Biederman
Picnic Park off the Lake Dore Rd on the west side.

The Snake River Line runs parallel and west of Hwy 17 and north of Cobden.
The flooded area for shorebirds is on the east side of the Line, about 2
km. south of the Snake River Bridge.

Good luck and wear you binoculars at all times.
