Eared Grebe still at the Exeter lagoons, this evening in the west cell. Seems to have forsaken the company of the Canada's, at least for the evening. Also of note tonight, was a couple of female Northern Shovelers, along with a couple of Am Widgeons. Also, the usual Least, Spotted, Pectoral Sandpipers along with plenty of Lesser Yellowlegs and Killdeer. A couple of highlights this evening, were the 1,000 to 1,500 swallows on the hydro lines running parallel to the lagoons. Quite an experience to walk along and have them all take flight over top of you. (And no, I did not get bull's eyed)...Other bright spot was to see my first little Ruddy Duck family. Babies looked no older than a couple days at the most. With proud papa busily shooing away another male from mom and the babes... All in all, a pleasant stroll on a pleasant evening.... (Just wish geese didn't poop).....

Exeter lagoons are a mile and a quarter to the west of the intersection of highways 4 and 83 approximately 30 miles north of London in Exeter. Turn south at the cemetery which is Airport Line road and drive to the second gate on the left. Park without blocking the entrance and walk in. Just a reminder that you are required to possess and display on your dashboard an annual permit that is obtained at the town office during business hours at no cost. Town office is at the intersection of Main St and Sanders St.

Good Birding..
