July 25 - The Cattle Egret (found July 22 a few miles east of Rock Point Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada) was found again today. At about 9:30 AM it was found north of Regional Road 3 just west of King Road. From 11:50 - 12:40 PM it was observed on the Buffalo Ornithological Society Field Trip from Rimer Road east of King Road. (Rimer Road is the Road parallel and just north of Regional Road 3.) Unfortunately, between 11:50 - 12:40 it was viewed at a much greater distance of about 200 yards and 95% of the time was hidden from view in tall grass or behind cattle. There were 2 Short-billed Dowitchers, 2 Sanderlings, with a total of eight shorebird species at Rock Point Provincial Park. Rock Point Provincial Park (Rock Point Provincial Park is on the Northeast Shore of Lake Eire 25 miles west of Fort Erie, Ontario, or 30 miles west of Buffalo, NY, at the source of the Niagara River)
Best Wishes for Great Birding, Bill Watson Tonawanda, NY
