Hi Everyone
The bird activity along the Ottawa River continues to increase.
Today,October 20, 2004 I birded from Dick Bell Park to Shirley's Bay for a few
hours. There was a definite increase in waterbird number, highlights included 5
Red-throated Loons, 125 Black Scoter, 84 White-winged Scoter, 29 Surf Scoter,
11 Long-tailed Duck, 100+ Common Goldeneye, 100+ Hooded Merganser and 1 first
winter Iceland Gull. The scoters were about 95% adult males.
                                                    good birding
                                                        Bruce
