good evening, all. i had a female rose breasted grosbeak on the east side of the hill at little river today, about 5.00pm.
also present were numerous winter wrens, and the usual fall sparrows and kinglets. further south of the hill, still east of the creek, there were at least 3 fox sparrows, and a yellow rumped warbler, and of course the usuals. also to anyone driving along riverside drive, be sure to check out the flocks of canada geese. steve (quiet birder) pike pointed out 3 snow geese in with a mixed flock of canadas a week and a bit ago in kiwanis park just east of lauzon. and he also had a blue phased snow goose in alexander park (at riverside and strabane) a week ago. little river is found by turning south off or riverside drive onto rivard. turn left off of rivard before getting to the "little river acres" complex, and across the river. -matt b.
