Good morning all. Yesterday (Sunday) I was with Adam Pinch at the tip of Point Pelee when he picked out a "Yellow" Palm Warbler amongst the innumerable kinglets and Yellow-rumpeds at about 10:00 a.m. At about 2:00 p.m., I found another myself near the Chesterfield Lookout at Hillman Marsh. Birders should be alert to watch for this "recognizable form" as there obviously must be more about. Randy Horvath, Windsor [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I wanted to reply to Bruce Ripley that my friend, Thomas Robertson and myself were birding Amhearst Island yesterday (Oct 24th). It was our first visit to the island. We were there from 1:00pm until 6:pm. We toured the island and saw the wonderful habitat at the east end, walked the Owl Woods, and drove around the western end of the island before heading back. During our driving tour, we observed one very large Red-tailed Hawk, one Rough-legged Hawk (first of the season for me), one male American Kestrel, and a pair of Northern Harriers. During our walking tour of the Owl Woods, we were not fortunate enough to see any Owls, but we did see Robins, White-breasted Nuthatches, and had a very long look at a Downey Woodpecker at one of the bird feeders. We also saw the ubiquitous Black-capped Chickadee, Cedar Waxwings, Starlings, and Red-winged Blackbirds. I was not aware that we were able to walk along the shore at the east end of the island, but we will return. Cheers and good birding. Todd Weeks (Ottawa) [EMAIL PROTECTED]
