A Pacific Loon was at Fifty Point Conservation Area as of 10.00 this
morning. This is a different bird than the one discovered last Sunday and
whose photo is on the OFO web page.
The bird we saw today has a black throat and no black-and-white
markings on the back. There was no sign of the other bird but, then, we
didn't wait around too long in the pouring rain.
Directions to Fifty Point C.A.:
From the Q.E.W. take the Fifty Road exit and go north towards the
lake. Go right onto North Service Road just after gong over the highway and
then take the first left which comes up rather sudenly after the road
sweeps to the left. The Conservation Area entrance is on the left. There is
a $5 admission fee.
