An OSPREY was seen by the North Leeds Birders at the Sewage Lagoon beside
DuPont at 2PM Wed., March 30. It enjoyed successful ice-fishing. Also,
three Great Blue Herons were seen here.
Song Sparrows were singing in several places today. A Carolina Wren was
seen, and frequently heard singing, at Cartwright's Point, along with a pair
of Pileated Woodpeckers.
A Pied-billed Grebe was seen at Belle's Island (off Montreal Street), where
we heard our first Wood Frog.
Many thousands of Canada Geese went through today, likely migrating up from
the Finger Lakes region of New York. We did not see any Snow Geese mixed in
with these flocks.
DIRECTIONS:
The lagoon is on the east side of the DuPont (Invista) Plant, off Front
Road.
Cartwright's Point is on the east side of Kingston, through CFB Kingston
south on Canal du Nord.
Best Pishes,
