There were several "Committees" of Turkey Vultures flying north-east over the Town of Essex in southern Essex County today. I saw at least 6 Committees of 6 or 8 vultures each fly over the Essex Civic Centre just north of Highway 3 in Essex. More could be seen off in the distance to the south-west as I was driving home to Leamington.

A few AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS are also lingering in the sparse fields. A HORNED LARK was singing away in the stubble of last year's crop. Continuing to Lasalle Woods I encountered numerous GOLDEN CROWNED KINGLETS, one RED BELLIED WOODPECKER which are often found here , 2 TREE SWALLOWS, 2 TURKEY VULTURES. A few DARK EYED JUNCOS are still around but will likely be leaving soon. Mark Conlon Lasalle, ON ------------------------------------ L O C A T I O N S ------------------------------------------------------------------- Lasalle is a small town adjacent and south of Windsor.
