While visiting Cabot Head Lighthouse on May 23rd during our vacation my wife - Jan and I spotted an adult breeding plumage Lark sparrow hoping around on the grounds of the Lighthouse store. The bird was fairly bold and unafraid of the many tourists and visitors. We saw the bird around 4 pm and the volunteers of the Friends of Cabot Head report that the bird has been seen previously.

To get there from Highway #6 in the Bruce peninsula take Dyers Bay Rd east to the T- intersection. Turn right at the T - intersection and continue on Bartley Drive through the borough of Dyer's Bay and continue along Birch Rd. to Cabot Head Rd. The beautiful scenic 10 km. drive along Canot Head Rd. to the lighthouse follows the Georgian Bay shoreline. Be sure to stop at the Rocky Raccoon Cafe for lunch or dinner.
