I was at the same location Tuesday afternoon and saw two individuals, a
smaller one on Brownlee almost at Shea on the south side and turning the
corner on Shea going north, a larger Snowy probably on the same tree as
below. Great to see live ones (after that dead one on the power line).

Subject: [Ontbirds]Snowy Owl, Cooper's Hawk, Ottawa Area
I prowled Monday afternoon on Eagleson Road area attempting to see a Snowy
Owl. I successfuly saw one, at 4:15 p.m., standing on the icy snow of a
field on Brownlee Road, between Eagleson Rd and Shea Rd. It had the
plumage of an immature. It flew off westward after a minute of
observation. I followed it at a distance, but was distracted by an
Accipiter passing me on the right. It stopped on a tall tree at the corner
of Brownlee and Huntley for 6 minutes, long enough to identify it as a
Cooper's Hawk. Further prowling allowed the sight of three Horned Larks on
the edge of the road, corner of Eagleson Rd and Brownlee. A Snowy Owl
(probably the same) was seen near the corner of Shea and Brownlee at 5:05
p.m., about 120 m from the road, perched on a lone tree.
Thanks to those who created this marvelous site, and maintain it. It
allowed me to see my first Snowy in years!
