This morning east of Johnston Rd there was a Snowy Owl in the middle of a wet field among thousands of Canada Geese and 200 Snow Geese. At the same site and in surrounding fields were several thousand Northern Pintails. Pintail numbers have been building up all week. Other waterfowl seen in same area include dozens of Green-winged Teals, Mallards and Black Ducks. Yesterday I saw a pair of Wood Ducks and a male Ring-necked Duck.

DIRECTIONS: Just east of Ottawa take exit 104 and head east on Russell Rd (Cty Rds 26 & 2). Johnston Rd meets Russell Rd a few km past Bourget.
