The Black Vulture that was hanging around yesterday was seen
once again early this morning.  The bird was seen this time
soaring over Rondeau rd. which is the main road down the
center of the park.
The Prothonotary was once again seen in the same location as
yesterday, the first viewing bench on Bennet rd.
There was also a Cerulean Warbler singing and giving great
views on  South Point trail.  Also seen offthe South Point
trail was a Little Gull feeding in a giant frenzy of the
other regular gull species.

Directions:  from Hi-way 401 take exit 101 (approx. 40
minutes west of London) follow signs south to park.
Once in the park to get the the visitor center follow
Rondeau rd. straight back until it ends(approx. 8km) then
turn left on Gardiner, follow for 1.5km until you reach the
VC on the right.
Bennet rd. is about 2km straight in from the park gate on
the left hand side (only road that runs east-west once into
the woods).  The road is gated off to vehicle traffic but is
open to birders, with benches set up for comforttable
viewing of all migrants.  Parking is available at the
Spicebush trail entrance.
The South Point Trail is located at the south east corner of
the park and the Cerulean was located about 2km down the
trail.

A Dutch lady who reads Margaret's column in the local newspaper phoned =
to say that she saw a garganey duck from the steel bridge across the =
east branch of Corbett Creek along the Waterfront Trail east of the =
Corbett Creek Sewage Treatment Plant.  This is an independent sighting, =
since she was unaware of our earlier sighting.
    I will post more detailed directions for those who need them.

John Haselmayer, Karl Konze, Ross Mackintosh, Dave  Martin, Pete Read, and

Last evening at N. W. Hillman Shorebird area there was a male Wilsons
Phalarope.  The Eurasian Widgeon was still present in the first shorebird
pond.

A Yellow-crowned Night Heron was located along  E  Sideroad at 10:00 AM.

A male Common Goldeneye was off N W Beach parking lot.

Tip Area:  A Little Gull  and a Great Black-backed Gull were on the Tip.  A
male Scarlet Tanager was at eye level off the boardwalk.  Loop Woods
contained a White-eyed Vireo.  Otherwise birding was slow in the Tip area
this morning.

Warblers included both Blue-winged and Golden-winged on the Woodland Trail;
both ventured to within 100 metres of the Visitor Centre.   Hooded,
Blackburnian, and Chestnut-side Warblers were reported from the Chinquapin
Trail and the Anders Footpath area.  A Screech Owl was located in Tilden's
Woods.
