Despite the rain this morning the birding has beed very
good, all the warblers are down low and giving great looks.
Seen this morning with only a few people reporting so far
are, Blue-winged, Tennesee, Nashville, N. Parula, Yellow,
Chestnut-sided, Magnolia, Cape May, Black-throated Blue,
Yellow-rumped, Black-throated Green, Blackburnian, Palm,
Bay-breasted, Black and white, A. Redstart, Prothonotary,
Ovenbird, N. Waterthrush, Mourning, C. Yellow-throat,
Hooded, Wilson and Canada Warblers. These Warblers were all
seen on Spicebush Trail and Bennet Rd.

Last night the Chuck-wills-widow was heard calling again
from the Vistor center Parking lot, it was first heard at
9:05 and was fairly distant. It soon moved very close and
was almost the only thing you could hear until a
Whip-poor-will started up as well.
Tulip Tree Trail proved fruitful early yesterday evening
with 2 male Hooded Warblers, Brewster's Warbler,
Prthonotary, Swainson's Thrush and some where inthe range of
15-20 Northern Parula.

Good Birding,

Ross Wood

I just had a call from Attila Fust who saw and heard a Swainson's Warbler
in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto. He observed it from 8 - 8:15 this
morning (12 May) while doing a warbler survey for the Toronto
Ornithological Club. It was singing about 10 - 12 metres high. Its location
is the middle of the east side of the cemetery along the paved road between
Mount Pleasant Blvd and Bayview Ave. Attila's description of its appearance
and song were very convincing.

Good birding,
