Hello Ontbirders,
Ron Pittaway just called from Kirkfield to say that at 1:00 p.m. he heard
the Henslow's Sparrow, reported yesterday by Dave Lord, singing in the
field on the west side of Wylie Road, about 200 metres north of the
intersection with McNamee Road. It is just past the little ridge with
trees, same as yesterday. He tied a white plastic shopping bag to the
second rung of the fence. He could hear it but couldn't see it in the dense
grass. Please stay on the public road to look for this bird.
Directions: From Kirkfield on Road 48 proceed north on Kirkfield Road 6
past the Lift Lock to McNamee. Turn right then immediately left onto Wylie
